Central and South American Hammocks

Central and South America has always been known as the birthplace of "hamacs". They were originally made from palm leaves or other tropical materials; they are now made of cotton and come in a variety of stunning colors. We have traveled down small roads and through villages to find the most exquisite hammocks that stem from the culture and life of the inhabitants of these regions.

Mayan hammocks from Nicaragua, versus those from Mexico, are of better quality and more comfortable. Mayan hammocks from Mexico are made of extremely small nylon rope that can tangle itself very easily and if one rope breaks the entire hammocks comes apart. Our Nicaraguan and Mayan Hammocks are woven with pure cotton and are very sturdy.

Brazilian style hammocks are made from cotton fabric and are usually more durable than the string varieties. These hammocks have full fabric bodies and are representative of a different hammock culture and offer the same comfort as other hammocks.

Small South American hammocks are great for one person while Deluxe sized hammocks are great for one or more!
